haha

he personally had nothing to do with the flying into buildings

but can you deny that there are al quida people in iraq now helping the "insurgents"?

can you say its better to have them there then flying planes into buldings over here?

can you tell me that we would be better off not knowing whether or not saddam is continuing to pursue WMD programs?

Saddam didn't have any WMDs or a WMD program, that's been proven over and over again. The sanctions were working and given time Iraq would have turned into another Libya without a shot being fired.

There never was a connection between al qaeda and Iraq and there isn't now, even Bush and his cabinet aren't claiming that

The "insurgents" are men fighting to protect
their women, children and homes from an out of control occupation force that has no definable goal, treats everyone as a "terrorist" (including journalists and aid workers) and has killed thousands of innocent civilians and very few actual "terrorists"

get your head out of the sand and stop watching Fox, you might learn something

I have a feeling we will see more violence on our turf as a result of Juniors mistakes here.

with all due respect - bullshit

you are watching too much cnn

"that's been proven over and over again"

it has never been proven that he didnt have a WMD program and it hasnt been "proven" that he didnt have WMDs. True they have not found any WMDs but keep in mind that they clearly did - at one time have a WMD program - and it was NEVER accounted for as being destroyed - and no remnants of it were found at all.

My brother is in Baghdad now assisting the training of Iraqi police - I dont get my news from fox I get it from him. He and the iraqis that he trains claim that they are 100% certain that organized Al qaeda fighters exist and are a factor (admittedly one of the many) slowing the stability of the area.

It's never been proven that he didn't have secret bases on Mars or a love affair with Timothy Leary either. The fact remains that NO WMD or anything resembling a WMD "program" (whatever that means) was found by anyone. Even shrub has given up using that as a justification for invading, now they talk about "removing the toture and rape rooms" as the reason for going into Iraq, but whoops, that's no longer a legitmate reason as we replaced them with our own

So how come they don't have any proof, say for instance capturing one and having him admit on Fox to Bill O'reilly that he's an Al Qaeda fighter and is raising shit in Iraq?
Maybe the reason is, THEY AREN'T THERE! They could care less about Iraq and are planning their next big hit on western Europe and the USA (think Madrid) while our troops are on a wild goose chase in the Iraqi desert shooting innocent civilians and looking for weapons of mass destruction that don't exist

Face it, we were lied to and our leadership can't get us out of the mess they've stumbled into

You make it seem as if it is the media's (or whomever's) responsibility to prove that WMD didn't exist. Since when are diplomatic individuals required to prove a negative? The onus is on those that claimed WMD did exist to prove that their justification for war was, well, justified. They have all but conceded that it wasn't.

Further, you are correct that AQ and others are now running amok in Iraq, but your supposition that they already existed and now have their attention diverted not only smacks of unbelievable hatred and a murderous tone, but implies that these terrorists were already in existence, when it is obvious to anyone paying attention that AQ (and others') numbers are multiplying as anti-Americanism spreads unfettered.

"it has never been proven that he didnt have a WMD program "

I must retract this statement

IT has been proven that he had a WMD program

Clearly this was the reason the UN was there in the first place.

The alleged new program has not been accounted for and may in fact not exist.

However there was sufficient doubt - even enought to "almost" get president clinton to go in and find out. We have gone in and we are finding terrorists from all over happy to get in on the fight against us and yes including AQ. If you do not believe this then it is your right as an american to do so. But your fellow citizens are over there fighting against them in order to bring stability to the country - and they see evidence of it.

And back to my initial statement - its better we are fighting them there than on our own turf.

"your supposition that they already existed and now have their attention diverted"

I did not say that they already existed

I simply said its better that they are fighting there than on our turf.

it is curious however that they decided to flock to iraq - a country they had nothing to do with (per your supposition) before this...

curious but regardless nice they are there and not here

JP: But your fellow citizens are over there fighting against them in order to bring stability to the country - and they see evidence of it.

BAR: It is impossible for them to bring stability to Iraq as an occupying military force. I find it difficult to support impossible objectives.

And if you seriously ever lost a moment of sleep about the current resistance fighters in Iraq having brought the action to our shores, someone is giving you fictional information.

The resistance there has no means to bring war to our shores. It took the Saudi 16 over ten years just to put sleepers into our country who could learn how to fly airplanes.

The Iraqis have no such sleepers here. They couldn't possibly 'invade' the USA, as it is about a two week boat ride from the Mideast to the Atlantic coast of the US. I have this funny feeling we would stop them before they completed the trip and for that we don't need a single troop in Iraq.

If you are afraid of such an attack, I feel sorry for you, but can't condone using our troops and tax dollars to assuage your irrational fears.

Great, we just made the MidEast proverbial fly paper. Now they will love us and keep their arms open to our presence. No hard feelings… let terrorists into our country so you can destroy our infrastructure, economy and family, but they are here and not there…“Anything to help out America.”

Your clarification is duly noted.

Now I presume you'll join us in calling for an end to the use of U.S. military to occupy and take over Iraq so we can better address the legitimate concerns that AQ presents?
